During this time, he also accepted a part-time position as an apartment manager where he worked nights and weekends for about 5 years. Maintenance, turnover, cosmetic remodel, advertising, and rent collection were all his responsibilities. In 2008 Chris was approached by the owners of a well-known local commercial glass and glazing company.
He was offered a project management position and went to work running projects for high-rise new construction and remodels. After 4 successful years, Chris was asked to take over the company’s service department and implemented a special projects division that is still successful to this day. After 9 years Chris was recruited by the largest and arguably best contractor in the state of Washington. It was here that Chris managed his most challenging and biggest project yet, coordinating his company’s scope of work with all the other trades for a 45-story hotel with high-end custom finishes throughout.
Near the end of this project, Chris realized he wanted to be a bigger part of something smaller. He wanted to return to his roots helping people turn the vision of their home or office into a reality. Chris founded Bicknell Builds in 2018 and has been busy helping people bring their visions to life ever since.
